Canadian Women in Cybersecurity 2020

Toronto, Ontario – Gaming Associates Europe Ltd is honored to have attended and participated in Canadian Women in Cybersecurity event organized by Siberx on March 10th, 2020 at Westin Harbour Castle. The event brought to light the current situation of diversity and gender-expectations in the cybersecurity industry. Not only the event covered career development guidance for the cybersecurity aspirants but also the inspiring keynotes, IoT best practices, and even hacking demos.

Despite the COVID-19 concerns and challenges the event was a great success with huge audience turnout belonging to various tech companies, cybersecurity companies, and career counseling organizations, cities, and financial institutions etc. The event also included various discussion sessions on current crucial topics such as cyberbullying, implications of not having diverse representations on cybersecurity, Tech facilitated violence against women and Digital ID & Privacy etc. The panelist in the discussion came from multiple cybersecurity firms, universities, banks and career counseling agencies who offered diverse perspectives on the given topic, emphasizing the significance of diversity in the cybersecurity industry.

Gaming Associates attended the event as an exhibitor and had the opportunity to meet local cybersecurity and tech experts. We were the only online gaming compliance company at the event. This event provided great networking opportunities for tech companies and us. We are proud to have introduced game testing and game security field to Canadian women, which can prove to be great career choice for aspiring individuals. The event also exhibited the necessity of having diversity in the tech and cybersecurity industry. We also had a chance to celebrate the Women in cybersecurity industry and understand the struggles they face by working in the cybersecurity field.
